Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University was established in 1998, by the Govt. of NCT-Delhi. The University aims to promote and facilitate higher education with focus on professional education like engineering, medicine, dentistry, law etc.
It is a teaching and affiliating University. University School of Law and Legal studies (USLLS) was established in 2001, with an objective to run five year integrated professional courses in law (BA/BBA LL.B). It also offers LL.M, Ph.D. and Post Doctoral research facilities in law.
Admissions to these courses are done on the basis of Common Entrance Test popularly known as IPUCET. There are about 10 colleges affiliated to IPU, with an intake capacity of 2540 seats.
