Eligibility

1. Educational Qualification: (AS ON 01.07.2017)
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised as such bythe Central Government. Those who are in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation may also applyprovisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passedthe graduation examination on or before 01.07.2017. Candidates having integrated dual degree (IDD) certificateshould ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 01.07.2017. Candidates possessing qualification ofChartered Accountant may also apply.

Test Duration & Pattern (SBI PO 2017)

Preliminary Examination: Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Main Examination: Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

The objective test is immediately followed by a descriptive test.

(ii) Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank. Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

Selection Process
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II), both in Objective Test and Descriptive Test, will be added to themarks obtained inGD&Interview(Phase-III)forpreparationof thefinalmeritlist. The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25. The final merit list is arrived at after aggregating converted marks of Written Test and Group Discussion &Interview out of 100 for each category. The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category. Results of the candidates who have qualified for GD & Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank's website. Final select list will be published in Employment News/Rozgar Samachar and also on Bank’s website.

The selection procedure will be divided into 3 parts, consisting of 2 written papers and a third GD/Interview round. The Preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and will not be counted towards the final total. Only those who qualify through Phase II will be eligible to attend Phase III processes. The scores of the remaining two rounds will be normalized to 100 as follows:

NOTE:

  1. As negative marking (penalty) for wrong answers, marks equal to one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.
  2. No negative marking for unattempted questions.
  3. You have to qualify in all 3 sections, SBI will decide the cut offs for the same at its discretion.

MAINS (Phase II)

SBI PO Mains 2017 will be consist of 2 parts – Objective Test (200 marks) and Descriptive Test (25 marks). Both the parts will take place online.

Mains Descriptive Test

The descriptive paper will be of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks assigned to the test of English Language. You will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay. You will be needed to secure passing marks to qualify the Descriptive Test, to be decided by the Bank.

NOTE: The Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

 

GROUP DISCUSSION & INTERVIEW (Phase III)

Aggregate marks of candidates qualifying in both Objective and Descriptive Tests will be arranged in descending order in each category. A certain adequate number of candidates as decided by the bank, will be called for the Group Discussion and Interview.
